Four Principles of Eating Rice

Rice is the staple food for most eastern people. Western people would try rice now & then. It seems ridiculous when I attempt to speak about how to eat rice. But in fact, most people have no idea the correct way to eat rice. Here are principles of eating rice.

To start with, eat pure rice. In other words, do not add grease or flavoring to rice. On the hand, simple rice is nice . Asian people like to eat stir-fried rice. Usually, they require to add sausage or some fatty dishes. Though it is more scrumptious, it is unhealthy. Additional energy would be converted to overweight in the human body & lead to hypertension. On the other hand, rice ought to be kept away flavoring, such as salt, soy sauce or monosodium glutamate. Additional salt do harms to blood vessels & would probably cause cardiovascular diseases. In case you need to add something to rice, vinegar is acceptable. Vinegar can reduce the sugar content in the blood & control overweight.

The second principle is that eating coarse grain food is better than eating finely processed rice. Coarse grain food provides dietary fiber for people. These fibers can effectively slow down the digestion & help intestines absorb more cholesterol & overweight. In contrast, finely processed rice speeds up digestion method & is simpler to cause high blood sugar & hypertension. Some coarse grain food, such as brown rice, comparatively has a worse taste. It is not a nice suggestion to eat such food every day. Therefore, people can add some coarse grain food to finely processed rice in cooking.

The third principle is that do not only put rice when you cook porridge. Porridge is suitable for patients. But porridge made of rice is simple in flavor & in nutrition. People are suggested to put nuts, beans & coarse grain food simultaneously. For hand, vitamin B & minerals are supplied. For another, protein is provided. More importantly, overweight is under control. Dieticians say that the combination of beans & rice is the best because the digestion of starch would be slowed down by fibers. Meanwhile, the conversion of dextrose to tannic acid is also delayed.

The last principle is that white rice is not healthy . Color food is more nourishing than single rice. For example, people can add green peas, orange carrots, & yellow corns to rice. Such rice not only is more pretty, but also offers vitamins & antioxidants such as carotenes to people. It is useful in eye protection. People are also suggested to put some black rice, red rice, & purple rice in to white rice. Such rice is rich in anthocyanin, which is helpful with heart protection andeye protection as well.
